Life Skills Development and Language Access

HACI aims at providing life skills development trainings to its clients to help them smoothly integrate in the host community as useful and productive members. This includes, orientation on the history, culture and tradition of the host community, language and communication trainings, basic computer literacy programs, saving and budgeting skills training, city transportation and emergency matters, etc.  The major activities to be undertaken in this regard in the short term can be summarized as follows:


  • Conduct cultural orientation sessions for clients using pro bono professionals 
  • Work in close collaboration with Montgomery College to create free language training access to our clients 
  • Work with volunteers and other non profits to provide basic computer skills training to our clients
  • Conduct short trainings to develop the life skills of our clients with regard to budgeting, transportation and city life adaptation strategies
